A Letter from our CEO
Dear Camp Fire Families,
The leadership staff and I hope that your family has settled into a comfortable routine for the new school year. We appreciate that you have chosen Camp Fire Alaska to support your family needs, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work with you and your children.
This letter is to share some planning that is in motion in regards to the CEO position that I have had the amazing honor of serving in for over 20+ years. Our board of directors is actively engaged in planning for a smooth and thoughtful CEO transition in early 2023 as I move onto other adventures and a new leader comes forward to serve as our CEO.
This Fall actually marks my 41st year with Camp Fire Alaska, and I have been truly blessed to serve alongside an incredible group of caring and passionate staff – a number of which are ensuring your child receives the best care possible today. I am proud and humbled by the work they do. And, while I am looking forward to what the future holds for me – it is clear that I will indeed miss joining them in the important work we do here at Camp Fire for our youth and families.
Please rest assured that many staff and volunteers are working to help ensure this change in the organization has the least impact on the services we provide. To that note, we have partnered with The Foraker Group to assist us with the CEO Search that has recently launched.

Our site staff, main office staff and all leadership staff including myself, would be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding any aspect of our organization. Please do reach out and let us know how we can assist you.
To close, I once again want to say thank you for trusting us with the care of your child. Our partnerships with families are deeply treasured by us all.
With warmth and care,
Barbara Dubovich, CEO
