Scholarships

We’re here to help.

We understand that circumstances can sometimes put a strain on the family budget making financial assistance necessary. Camp Fire Alaska Scholarships are designed to help families through those periods of financial difficulty. We are deeply grateful to the individual donors, foundations, and corporations who provide funding to our agency so we can provide families with financial assistance and provide all youth with the opportunity to experience Camp Fire programs. Please find our School & Summer Adventure Scholarship Application and our Camp K & Camp Fireweed Scholarship Applications below. Applications for 2025 summer programs do not open until January 2025.

ABOUT SCHOLARSHIPS

  • Scholarships are a reduction in fees for a defined period of time.  They are based on a family’s need and the available funds to cover the reduction.
  • Apply early. Processing takes time and funds are limited.
  • To be eligible for a Camp Fire scholarship, you must complete and submit a Child Care Assistance Application in addition to completing the Camp Fire scholarship application.
  • Answer all questions. Applications with unanswered questions will be returned causing a delay in processing.
  • In order to process your application, we must verify your income. Attach copies of the last two pay stubs for all wage earners in the household. Without these attachments, applications will be held until received.
  • Camp scholarships are awarded for one session of camp only.

AFTER YOU APPLY

  • Applications are verified and reviewed for approval.
  • Applicants will be notified regarding the status of their scholarship application by mail and email. Please allow up to four weeks for processing after submitting completed application.
  • Applications may be placed on a waiting list until scholarship funds become available.
  • School Programs: Monthly payments are required once your child starts attending program, and while you are waiting to hear about your scholarship. Payments are due on the first of each month.

The Camp Fire Alaska main office operates on the ancestral land of the Dena’ina people. Camp Fire Alaska runs programing on the lands of the Athabascan, Yup’ik, Chup’ik, Sougpiaq, and Inupiaq peoples. We value and thank them for their current and historic commitment to and protection of this land. We pledge to assist, in partnership, in the environmental stewardship of these lands. We strive to learn more about the history of the Native peoples of Alaska and the historic trauma they have suffered. We commit to being an active ally through activities, actions, and organizational decisions and practices. We understand that this is a dynamic process through which our Land Acknowledgement practices, and statement will evolve as we receive feedback from tribal partners and acquire a deeper understanding of and from the Native peoples of Alaska..  (v2)
