More
than 70 percent of Americans contribute to the nonprofit groups
of their choice throughout their lifetimes, but only about 6
percent continue this support through a gift in their will or
estate plan.
By making a "planned gift," you can continue to help
organizations like Camp Fire that are making an important difference
in our community-in perpetuity.
Wills
One of the simplest means of planned giving is to provide a bequest
to Camp Fire USA Alaska Council in your will. You can
name Camp Fire as the direct beneficiary of assets, a portion
or percentage
of your estate, or what remains of your estate after your other
obligations have been met. You should contact an attorney for
assistance in drafting
your will.
Life Insurance Policies
You can designate Camp Fire as the sole or partial beneficiary
of your life insurance policy. Donate a fully paid policy to
Camp Fire
and qualify for a tax deduction, or name Camp Fire as the owner
and beneficiary of the policy and take an income tax deduction
for the
approximate value of the policy at the time of transfer.
Retirement Plans
You can specify Camp Fire as the beneficiary of your pension,
IRA, Keough, SPE, or other plan.
Charitable Trusts
You can take advantage of creative and versatile living trusts
to provide assets to Camp Fire while you retain the
full use and benefit of those assets during your lifetime. For
example,
cash, securities,
or real estate can be placed into a charitable remainder
trust, which
pays annual income to you and/or your loved one for life,
then benefits Camp Fire at your death. Such an option can
offer
attractive tax
incentives.
Making the gift is easy: Just contact Suzanne Holmes,
Director of Development and Marketing at (907) 257-8819.
