Help send a kid to   camp...

As part of our exciting camp redevelopment, we are gradually transitioning away from the name Camp Kushtaka. As we transition to the new name, you may see references to Camp Kushtaka, Camp K and Camp K on Kenai Lake - they all refer to the same camp.

Nestled among the spruce forests along Kenai Lake in Cooper Landing, 'Camp K' provides the perfect environment for youth to explore the natural world around them, engage in challenging activities and form friendships that can last a lifetime. With the supportive guidance of camp counselors, campers build their own unique community in which each member can experience a sense of belonging, connectedness, safety, acceptance and appreciation. Four day, six day and ten day sessions are available for youth ages 6 to 17. Round trip transportation is provided from Anchorage and Girdwood.

Camp Sessions are creatively designed to meet the needs of the youngest first time campers as well as our returning campers. They are engaging, exciting, safe and fun for any child or young adult.

When you are ready to register, you may do so online or we will be happy to assist you in person at our office located at 161 Klevin St. in Anchorage (Map).

If you have any questions about the camp program, please contact the Camping Program Director Theresa Serr-Burek. She's always happy to talk about camp!

Writing a letter to your camper

Do send letters to your child while they are at camp, and send pre-addressed and stamped envelopes with them so they can share their day's adventures with their family back home! Address mail to your camper like this:
Camper Name
c/o Camp Fire USA Alaska Council
P.O. Box 689
Cooper Landing, AK 99572

Mail your letters a few days before the session start to make sure the letter arrives while your camper is at camp.

Driving Directions

Camp K is about 110 miles from Anchorage. Take the Seward Highway south out of town toward Seward. Take the right hand exit to Soldotna/Homer (look for this a few miles after Summit Lake Lodge). Immediately after you cross the Kenai River Bridge in Cooper Landing turn left onto Snug Harbor Road. Camp is approximately 4 miles down the road on your left. Parking area is to the right.
